Mr. Bruce Cadwallender
Board Member since April 27,
Bruce served as Director of Safety and Emergency
Management for the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers,
retiring in 2014. Bruce currently serves as Special Pathogen Consultant to the
Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. With over 30 years’
experience in the practice of safety, health and environmental management, he
serves as an adjunct faculty member for the Department of Environmental Health
Sciences of the University Of Michigan School Of Public Health. His career also
includes experience as a Cold War and Vietnam-era US Air Force officer, serving
in the specialties of radar air defense and strategic missiles.
In addition to his position
as Board Treasurer, he serves as a member of the External Advisory Board for
the University Of Michigan School Of Public Health Center for Occupational
Health and Safety Engineering and volunteers with the advocacy group Citizens’
Climate Lobby. Previously, he served on the Ann Arbor Local Emergency Planning
Committee, and chaired the Emergency Management Exercise Committee for the
Region 2 South Healthcare Coalition.
Residents of Antrim
Township, Bruce and his wife Debbie enjoy spending time with family and
following the school and sports activities of their grandchildren.
